My name is Dennica Pearl Worrell. I am a Barbadian and Filipino visual artist and musician.
My studio is located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I graduated from The New School in New York with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts. I am currently in a media studies graduate program at The New School studying film making with a focus in media activism. I use photography to explore the intersection of culture and nature. As a mixed-race woman of color growing up in today’s America, I find my own freedom within wild spaces. Vivid wildlife, rare flowers, tropical landscapes, and portraits of people of color in lush environments are common subjects featured in my visual work. Feet in the soil, growing my own food, and framing shots with my camera is where I feel most free.
