Chuka Machie is a self taught artist. He was born on the 18th of June 1971 in Onitsha and he grew up in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Enugu. After his secondary school education he worked briefly as a hotel receptionist porter and finally as a security man before settling down as a full time professional artist in 2000.
Exhibited in ‘Life in my city’ group exhibition organized by Alliance Francaise (French Center) Enugu in 2008. Had a group exhibition at Bricklane art gallery London titled ‘Art in the mind ‘ on the 26th of august to 6th of September 2010.
Machie currently resides in Enugu, popularly referred to as the coal city in Nigeria.
