Arlen Costa, Brazilian, born in 1979 in the city of Uberlândia, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Since he was a child he has always enjoyed drawing. As a teenager, he was heavily influenced by anime, manga, advertising and also design. He started in the Arts course in 2002, since then, he started with more intensity the search for artistic references to find his way and solidify his creations in the universe of digital arts. It was an intense period of many tests to improve the use of contemporary tools, interspersed with academic manual processes, obtained during the course to obtain infinite plastic possibilities in the pictorial plastic context.
This trajectory is permeated with participation in artistic events at a regional, national and international level, such as digital arts exhibitions such as FILE (International Electronic Language Festival), in 2004, in the city of São Paulo. Videoformers, in the year 2020, in the city of Clermont-Ferrant, France, and poster exhibitions around the world such as the 4TH Block, in the year 2021, in Ukraine.
“Abstract painting is for me the way I can express myself spiritually without mentioning words, which is manifested through gestures that scream through the colors and textures transmitted by the brush. Actions that are combined with the image manipulation tool, a step that allows greater creative and intuitive freedom in the process of pictorial plastic experiments, providing new paths of discovery for the development of new images. The painting to emerge, originates from the combination of several layers of images obtained by scanning the scanner and handled by digital tools to obtain a satisfactory result. The colors are essential and reveal the creative energy used in the process and, of course, the desire to awaken in the viewer the sensation of witnessing previously imaginable chromatic dimensions.”
